    Note:    few is used with individual things
                 or people: I have a few stamps left;
                 A few people stayed. little is 
                 used with things that occur in a mass:
                 I have a little money left. fewer
                 is used with individual things of people.
                 I made fewer mistakes than
                 you did: Fewer people smoke
                 nowadays. less is used with things
                 that occur in a mass: He has less
                 money than I have Note that a few
                 and a little mean 'some':
                 You may invite a few friends to
                 your party;
                He put a little sugar in his coffee.
                Few and little mean hardly any!
                A poor man has few friends;
                He had little respect for his
